Back to Basics

"After the Dance"
ACEO Original Graphite Drawing
2.5 x 3.5"
SOLD
As with most artists, my first tool was a graphite pencil. I have always appreciated fine graphite drawings and recently, have been thinking of doing a series of pieces to show. So, today was a good day to practice a little. Let me know what you think.

A rose in graphite - I like it, but could never do it, I love color so much. I am interested in your composition, the rose placed so high on the paper.

Did you really do all this this morning? How long did it take you?

I love Graphite. I did several huge pieces when I first attended University. 30"x40" on Illustration board.
I have been toying with the idea of a Winter coming to
plant myself in my Art corner and do some more of these studies.
I have been just doing sketches on the Bus.
People here stare at you like - ugly.
I sketch anyway. I love the rose. One of my favorite
artist is a Graphite Artist. I have my collection of Her work on My Kaboodle Page. I will Upload a page for
You!
I have stated in several places my interest in the
Pollock Matters show at Boston college and have been doing Pollock 6"x12" of His mature drip painting style. I am doing some in black, white and Gray. I like them. The colors just can drive your MAD!. Will blogg them soon.

Beautiful job, Rhonda!

Love it. I like B&W photos and this has the same appeal. It relies on the strength of the object, not the color, to pull you in. Well done!

Thank to all for your feedback and comments. I really appreciate that. Think I'll do a few more of these graphite pieces.
Jeanne, I usually do my ACEO drawings in an hour or so, then post at night.
