Bolivian Lady - WIP, second post

Bolivian Lady

Stage 6

I have a love/hate relationship with this piece now - it is taking a l-o-n-g time to progress (which I hate) but I can zone out and get a bit meditative as well (which I love). I also listen to books on tape while I draw or paint so I think I'm going to get through at least 3 books with this one!

I feel your pain with the slow progress; this is turning out wonderfully, though!

This is progressing beautifully. Love the reflection on her face! The consolation in working slow is that it yields a unique quality to a piece that time saving tricks don't. Hang in there... :-)

I know what you mean by love hate...I have that relationship with the portrait of Mr. Lincoln that I'm trying to finish. I commend you, I could never listen to a book on tape at the same time. I think I would loose my focus.

I'm enjoying the progress 'through your pain'...no pun intended. Look forward to the final post. Thanks for sharing

Your work is all just wonderful. I so admire yor patience in these stunningly detailed pictures - it's something I seem to have less of these days. I've been struggling with an acrylic portrait for 3 years on and off and I'm SO looking forward to finishing it, but her smile keeps coming and going away again...

I adore the shadow of the hat on her face, you've absolutely nailed it. Wonderful.
