Final Look

"My Neighbor's Fence"
14 x 20"
Colored pencil on paper

I completed this piece about a year ago to enter into a show but it didn't make the cut.  So, being the sensitive artist that I am, I put it aside because rejection is never easy.

But recently I dug this up to take another look and was quite pleased with it and myself.  So I thought I'd share the final work with all of you and let you, my readers, be the judge.  Yep, give me your honest opinion.

Once, I had someone describe being an artist as similar to standing naked on a busy street corner.  You expose yourself and your work and need to be ready to take the response you receive.  Not always easy, but something we are driven to do.  Ahh, for thicker skin, no?

This is just stunning, Rhonda. I love the colors in the fence and the leaves.

I love your final work.. the scene looks delicate and somehow vulnerable.. what a pity the personal taste of the responsible judges was different ... Only sensitive artists can effect such results - be proud to be one of this special species (hope my English is somehow understandable).. my very best wishes
